1- What is style on demand? Tell us about it and how it works?
TECHNOLOGY TODAY ALLOWS EACH AND EVERY SHOPPER TO CONTROL THE ENVIRONMENT WHERE THEY SHOP AND DECIDE ON THEIR PURCHASE.ON LINE SHOPPING IS INCREASING DAILY AND WE BELIEVE TRYING BEFORE YOU BUY IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME FOR 48 HOURS TO MAKE A DECISION IS FAR BETTER THAN UNDRESSING IN A PUBLIC SPACE WITH LIMITED SHOPPING TIME. THE SCANLIFE BARCODE EXPERIENCE IS PERFECT FOR SHOPPERS WHO LIKE TO BROWSE AND KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE STYLES ON DISPLAY IN A STORE WINDOW OR IN THE STORE ITSELF. THEN TO HAVE THE POWER THROUGH AN APP TO SIMPLY PURCHASE THE STYLES THEY LIKE " ON DEMAND" WHICH ULTIMATELY TAKES THEM TO OUR PRODUCT PAGE WHERE THEY CAN USE THE TRY BEFORE YOU BUY SERVICE. THE STYLES ARRIVE THE NEXT DAY TO THEIR HOME AND THE FUN BEGINS. IF ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED FROM A PERSONAL SHOPPER THEY CAN SKYPE OR SIMPLY EMAIL QUESTIONS.
2- Why did you decide to create it?
THE TRY BEFORE YOU BUY SERVICE HAS BEEN EVOLVING ON TO OUR WEBSITE OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS. THE BAR CODE INFORMATION WAS CIRCULATING LAST SEASON WHEN WE PRESENTED OUR DEMOCRATIZATION OF FASHION CONCEPT AT THE APPLE STORE IN SOHO. IT WASN'T UNTIL THIS SEASON THAT LOU (The Lou she refers to, is legendary NYC publicist, Lou Iacovelli of Atelier Creative Services) FOUND THE SCAN LIFE TECHNOLOGY THAT WAS READY FOR APPLICATION AND OUR NEEDS. WE WERE SHOWING IT TO VISITORS AT OUR PRESENTATION THIS SEASON AND SCANNERS WERE WINNING LOTTO PRIZES AND LEARNING ABOUT ALL THE STYLES AS THEY STILL DO, AND I REALIZED NOW IS THE TIME TO LET SHOPPERS BUY RIGHT FROM THE FRONT WINDOW AT NIGHT AND IN THE SHOP IN THE DAY ON DEMAND....
3- How important is it for the fashion world to embrace new digital mediums?
NEW CONCEPTS ARE OFTEN A CHOICE BUT NEW TECHNOLOGY THAT INVOLVES COMMUNICATION IS NOT A CHOICE, IT IS THE WAY IT WILL BE. THE FASHION INDUSTRY WILL EMBRACE THE NEW TECHNOLOGY, EACH OF US IN OUR OWN WAY.
4-Whats next for norma?
I AM SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE BEEN A PART OF THE 60'S REVOLUTION AND NOW THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY REVOLUTION. I CHERISH EVERY NEW EXCITING OPPORTUNITY AND LOVE THE EXPERIENCE AND APPLYING IT TO MY BUSINESS AND PERSONAL LIFE.
