Are you setting personal goals for 2017? We caught up with Beauty industry expert, Cheryl Kramer Kaye in New York City, to share some quick tips and must-have advice to help you achieve them now and for years to come.

"One of the best investments you'll make is in yourself because you truly are what you put into it." she says, "From what you eat, to beauty care and your apparel, your choices can all add up to be a winning combination."

Speaking of choices, a new study from a leading skincare brand even shows how decisions made today can impact your skin in the future. It's called the RoC Wrinkle Ranking Study.

"The Roc Wrinkle Ranking Study looked into the future to shine the light on the underline factors that can cause skin to age and predict what we can expect to see when looking in the mirror several decades down the road."

Findings show that residents of larger metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and New York City are more likely to develop fine lines and wrinkles by the year 2040 due to high stress levels, congested commuting, lower air quality and higher smoking rates.

But perhaps one of the most important realizations about this study is that so many factors are beyond our control, such as pollution and commuting. The best thing we can do is to start protecting our skin now.

"A good skincare regiment is a must...that means washing away impurities every night before bed, exfoliating weekly, and using a great night cream like RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. This product contains pure retinol, which is really the ingredient for combating wrinkles combined with an essential mineral complex to visibly reduce even those deep wrinkles."

What else? Just like you stay on top of your skincare needs don't neglect your hair.

"Hair is another one of those things that instantly reflects a woman's overall look," she says, "If you're noticing grays or thinning do not a fret, a few small changes can go very far. There are so many color kits you can find at the drugs store that you can easily use at home. Coloring your hair can take years off and give you an instant refresh. "

If you are experiencing thinning hair like many women do there are over the counter remedies for that too.

"Hereditary hair loss is the leading cause of hair loss in women and can be recognized by as a widening of the part. The reality is that if left untreated this can actually worsen over time so first make sure you are aware of the early signs like hair accumulation in the showers, on your pillow, on your hairbrush then get started on a treatment with Minoxidil. This is the only ingredient FDA approved to regrow hair in women."

Women's Rogaine 5% Minoxidil Foam is a once daily application hair regrowth treatment for the scalp, which is exclusively for women experiencing this. It's easy to apply and works to reactivate hair follicles and stimulate hair growth and if you keep up with in and use it once a day, everyday it is also proven to regrow up to 25% more hair in three months.

Another must to looking your absolute best, whether you have thinning hair or not is a great cut. "Talk to your hairstylist about what cuts work best for the shape of your face."

Finally Cheryl says update your fashion game. It's easier than ever to do. "Flip through magazines or go online to see what the style experts are recommending... Most often style influencers will link out to the clothes they're wearing, which makes it easier for you to purchase them for yourself."

All of these things can really make the difference in your appearance of how you feel overall.
