Want to host the chicest summer gathering? Interior Designer and artistic advisor to LG Studio, Nate Berkus breaks down everything for throwing the best brunch from kitchen appliance must-haves to stylish table settings.

Plan Ahead

Way before your guests arrive, you want to have everything in order from the maintenance to the menu.

"Make sure that everything is steamed and cleaned, your dishes are washed, it's ready to go," says the design guru, "Make sure there's coffee ready; make sure there's a pitcher of summer lemonade...and do it buffet style because it's so much easier than a sit down."

Form meets function

We all know the kitchen is about bringing people together-we do a lot of living and create so many memories in our kitchen and Nate says it's the hardest working room in the home so you need it to be well-functioning to stand the test of time and great appliances are at the heart of that.

"This studio line has been a blast for me to collaborate with LG on," says the kitchen expert who has designed dining spaces for clients all over the world, "They understand the makings of a dependable, solid, forward-thinking appliance. There's a lot of really great things about each of the products in the LG Studio line."

Features include an elongated ice and water dispenser, big enough to fit a flower vase so you can easily fill it up.

Dress Up Your Space

When it comes time to take care of your tablescape Nate likes to mix materials and go for unexpected accessories such as geometric vases and bold patterns. "It creates interest and also makes your guests feel really special," he says.

The last layer? Bringing the outside in is one of the best summer dcor tricks-floral arrangements or touches of greenery will dress up any table. Nate says keep the color scheme simple with either all greens and pinks or all whites.

And don't forget to always make your kitchen and dining space your own. "That's what I think everybody's really interested in, personalizing their space," says Nate.
