The NFL is making major plays in the world of men's apparel. Traditionally fans have worn NFL clothing to cheer on their team at the stadium or in front of the TV but now the league has expanded the brand style and wearing occasion of its apparent to show fans that NFL gear is not just for game day.
"Most fans are hardcore fans so they look to wear you know their team colors everyday but it's hard to without looking like you are going to a game," says New York Jets' Eric Decker, "So with this line you have the ability to go to dinner, to you know even maybe sometimes work, or an event wearing apparel of the team but still looking good and casual."
"You know I think gentlemen now they are obviously more style conscious so were going to be incorporating a lot of casual lifestyle and what I mean by that is T-shirts, blazers, a soft button down under a crewneck sweatshirt," says Jace Lipstein, NFL Stylist, Editor-in-Chief Grungy Gentleman, "People are extremely prideful of where they're from and also the team that they root for and style's indicative of your personality and appearance is key so if this can elevate your appearance you should go for it every single day."
"Definitely got my style right. I'm a T-shirt guy," says Decker, "I love throwing a sweater over top or even you know a jacket to uh spice it up a little bit so that's definitely my look."
Retired player Charles Woodson explains how you can dress the gear up or down. "You know if you put on a nice uh nice jacket you know over top one of your team's shirts uh or jerseys it can look very, very classy," he says "I mean you could wear that look to work if you want to."
"It's like a lifestyle thing you know...to be able to be proud of your city...proud of your team and you know I think as far as nowadays they're making stuff more fashionable," says Los Angeles Rams' Todd Gurley.
And the guys agree if you're a fan you have to show it.
"If you are a true fanatic supporting your team 24/7 is part of your life," says Denver Broncos star Von Miller,"From the moto jacket to you know the thermals. It's...its pretty dope."
