Jamie Chung's Spring Must-Haves

Take Jamie Chung's tips for a healthy and happy Spring

From the LifeMinute Team

April 1, 2015

Jamie Chung is one busy woman! Between her recent engagement and her new show (Resident Advisors, premiering on Hulu on April 9!), the Reality TV Star turned Movie Star barely has time for anything these days...but she still made some time for a quickie Q & A sesh with LifeMinute!

Where do we start when it comes to looking our best this Spring?

"I think it's important to feel good overall, inside and out. So let's start with the skin; it's important to protect your skin," says Chung, "Jergens came out with these great products called BB Protect and BB Hand, and they both have SPF in them. So, it not only protects your skin, but as soon as you put it on, you notice immediate hydration; it corrects the skin over time, it evens the tone, and it refines. So it helps keep your skin looking new and fresh and radiant."

How about fashion...any trends you're loving for Spring 2015?

"I feel like it's all about bold prints and skirts with slits," says Chung, "A front slit [or] there are also really cute skirts with side slits, and I think it's a great piece you can wear to the office but then also wear at night."

Did any accessories make your Spring wish list?

"There's this great line called Saatchi Jewelry," says Chung, "And it's all fine jewelry so everything's 14 carats, real diamonds, and it's at a reasonable cost. But they've got really cool contemporary designs. They're all really delicate, so you can stack them up. All the rings are stackable, or you can wear them as separates. There's also a great sunglass line called Karen Walker, and she's been around for a while but she makes really good quality sunglasses [with] a contemporary edge to classic twists. And they look great on everyone."

Any fave fitness or workout tips you'd like to share?

"I love working out. You know, I'm all about taking classes - whether it's a Spin class or a Pilates class, Ballet Barre Class - you name it, I'll do it," says Chung, "But if you put me in a gym, I won't get anything done. So those things can get expensive. Now what ClassPass does is you pay $99, you sign up online - it's a monthly fee of $99 - and you get access to all your favorite studio classes."

How much does healthy eating play a role in your Spring routine?

Chung says, "It's important to eat well. I have a hard time taking down kale but there's a great recipe that you can use to make kale taste delicious. Now you take a handful of kale, a handful of blueberries, throw it in a blender along with two dates, a frozen banana, a cup of ice, two cups of almond milk; you blend it all together with a bit of protein and it's the perfect meal for the morning or in between meals throughout the day -- gives you lots of great energy."

Any travel hot spots you would like to visit in your (limited!) free time?

"You know, if you're looking for a destination, just a little holiday to get away or to kickstart the Spring on a healthy foot, there's this great location in Costa Rica called Pranamar Resort and it's a yoga retreat," says Chung, "So it's a great way to you know, rejuvenate and recharge the battery after this long Winter."

And congrats on your engagement! Have you set a date?

"Oh man, you know, we're planning for a Fall wedding," shares Chung, "But I think the secret to a happy engagement is, you know, hiring someone to plan the wedding!"
