Designer Vivenne Tam practices what she preaches. "I love this chin-to-waist shape now. It's like a housewife dress," said the designer of the number she wore at her Spring 2013 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. "I have to say, that red housewife dress she's wearing? I'm a little jealous! Why am I not wearing that dress?" laughed the original housewife, Kelly Killoren Bensimon.

Along with collarbone necklines, the Spring 2013 Vivienne Tam ready-to-wear collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week featured past-the-knee skirts and dresses, graphic accents and a lot of gorgeous greens. "My collection was based on the five elements of Chinese cosmology: fire, wood, metal, water, earth. They enhance a person's energy and, at the same time, are fashionable. So, why not?" the designer told us. "The wood is green and the metal is a metallic. Actually the shape of a metallic is a circle, and you see that on all the geometric forms this season," she pointed out.

Statement-making accessories also play a part. "It all coordinates with my jewelry this season. Forms, shapes, textures," says Tam. "I love Vivenne. I come to all of her shows every season. I love seeing the elegant gowns and she's super creative," said Designer and Reality Star Angela Simmons. And this season, not only is the Vivienne Tam Spring 2013 collection gorgeous, but it has the power to make you feel better on the inside. Now, that makes for some happy shopping.
