With the cooler weather comes busier schedules, but that's no excuse for letting your positive self-care habits fall by the wayside. Instead, find a way to stay consistent with your daily skincare duties now (your face will thank you later): Always remove your makeup before bed no matter how exhausted you feel, exfoliate a few times a week depending on your skin type, and use only the products that are proven effective.

"I'm loving CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser. It exfoliates and cleanses without irritation, while ceramides help restore your skin's barrier. Unlike many exfoliating cleansers this one does not contain any harsh beads or grains and it's gentle on the skin. It has salicylic acid to help exfoliate and soften, which is essential for smoothing rough skin. Essentially, it better prepares skin for hydration by sloughing off dead skin cells while cleansing," says Kate De Ponte, a beauty expert and confidence coach.

CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser is $13 and is available at Walgreens, CVS, WalMart and Target.

While you're making sure your skin is hydrated from the outside, keep it hydrated inside too. Kate suggests drinking plenty of water and making healthy eating choices such as nuts and green leafy vegetables.

Also look into a daily supplement. She suggests Violet Iodine, a new, once-daily supplement that's drug- and hormone-free and available over the counter. It's made with two forms of iodine that are introduced into the acidic environment of the stomach, combining to form something called molecular iodine.

Molecular iodine has been shown to restore the natural, healthy balance of breast cells to relieve monthly discomfort. "You just take it as part of a daily regimen, one tablet each morning. Most women begin to experience symptom relief after about 60 days. Violet taken daily can not only alleviate monthly symptoms but improve overall breast health because it prevents the buildup of density in breasts which can lead to inaccurate screenings," she says.

Violet Iodine is available without a prescription at stores like CVS, The Vitamin Shop, Drugstore.com and Harris Teeter. Go to violetdaily.com for more information.
