The Fixer to Fabulous stars join Daikin to release a six-part miniseries called the Sustainability Series

Have you ever wondered about the true meaning of sustainability and how it affects us? Renovation experts and hosts of Fixer to Fabulous, Dave and Jenny Marrs, along with Daikin Comfort Technologies, have announced the launch of a new initiative called the Sustainability Series to highlight ways we can perfect the air we share. This six-part miniseries will be aired on HGTV during prime time starting in October. The husband and wife duo sat down with LifeMinute in their family home on National Manufacturing Day to share some simple and lasting solutions that we can all get on board with to be part of the movement.

They say plenty of small changes add up to big energy savings over time, like installing a smart thermostat, ensuring your home is properly insulated, and your HVAC system is part of a seasonal maintenance program with your contractor. Approximately 40% to 60% of home energy use is for heating and cooling homes, so whether you’re using effective design or energy-efficient equipment, reducing home energy use can have a positive impact on the environment and your electric bill.

One of Jenny’s favorites is using natural light during the day, then at night encouraging everyone in their family of seven to turn the lights off when they leave a room, and using solar outdoor lights and chargers whenever possible. When you multiply these small changes across countless homes, the collective impact becomes substantial.
