Oliver and Willow have a lot to coo about this year. According to some of the most favorite baby name websites, these are the two most popular boy and neutral-gender baby names trending so far in 2022. Oliver is of Latin origin and considered energetic, good-natured, and stylish. Willow came into use after the willow tree, which is associated with grace and elegance. The willow tree is reportedly singer/songwriter Pink's favorite tree. She is said to have named her eleven-year-old daughter Willow because she considers it the most flexible tree in nature that can withstand anything, and she wanted that for her daughter. 

There’s nothing blue or shrinking about the name Violet. It's the #1 trending girl's name. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's eldest daughter is named Violet. Charlotte takes spot #2. The name is of French origin but it has gained increasing popularity following the birth of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge (her parents are Prince William and Duchess Kate) in 2015 in the UK.

Liam and Noah fell from their #1 and #2 perches in 2021, while Theodore has risen through the ranks from #10 to #3, which means "gift of God." 

Rowan and Sage round out the top three most popular neutral-gender baby names. Rowan is of Scottish, Irish origin, which means "little redhead." It's also the name of a tree with red berries found in Scotland that is said to ward off witches. Sage is of Latin origin. Actress Toni Collette reportedly named her daughter Sage, which means “wise,” because she was already teaching her in the womb.
