Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rossellini came out for the premiere of Conclave at the AMC Lincoln Square in New York City. We spoke with the stars about preparing for their roles in the dramatic film and what it was like shooting in Rome.
Longtime friend of Rossellini, actress Brooke Shields was also there and excited to screen the film. “I’ve been waiting for this movie,” she said, “There’s just not one person in it that I am not enamored with their talent and in awe of.”
From director Edward Berger, Conclave follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events – selecting the new Pope. Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence uncovers a trail of deep secrets left in the dead Pope’s wake, secrets which could shake the foundations of the Church.
Conclave which also stars Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow hits theaters October 25.
