These famous brands' philanthropic feats help take the guilt out of shopping.

Philosophy

It may not be widely known, but one in five women suffer from a mental illness in any given year. Because of this, well-being beauty brand Philosophy has created the Hope and Grace Initiative to support women's mental health, according to Pandora Amoratis, Style Director of OK! Magazine.

Philosophy donates one percent of all US product sales--any product, anywhere, any time to support community based mental health efforts. In just one year Philosophy has donated half a million dollars to local organizations working to empower women through promotion, prevention and treatment of mental health.

"Some of their best sellers are the Cleanse, Peel, Treat Regimen, Purity Cleanser, The Microdelivery Peel and Renewed Hope Moisturizer. You can support the Hope and Grace Initiative and mental health organizations across the country with the purchase of any Philosophy product. You can also support the Hope and Grace grantees. Just go to Philosophy.com/hopeandgrace for more information," says Amoratis.

Dove

Dove has long been committed to women and girls. In fact they've reached 17 million young people globally with self- esteem education to date. Dove research shows that 72% of girls feel pressure to be beautiful but with resources and strong role models they can reach their full potential.

A great resource is Pinterest.com/SelfEsteem. It's dedicated to self-esteem resources, activities, and tips that demonstrate the power and ease of mentorship with help right at your fingertips. It has more than 80 pins of tips and conversation starters. Everything from building your self-confidence to navigating peer pressure and dealing with bullying.

"Dove hopes to inspire girls and mentors to use these free materials. They're accessible anywhere you can get an internet connection. So by choosing Dove you're really supporting a vision to create a world where beauty comes from a sense of confidence and not anxiety. In the US they currently support partnerships with the Girl Scouts of the USA and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America," says Amoratis.

Lands' End

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Week. One in eight women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. Lands' End is determined to give back to the loyal women who have been purchasing their clothing for years so they've teamed up with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for their second annual Pink Thread Project.

"So you can get some of your favorite Lands' End clothing monogrammed and 75% of the monogram proceeds- that's $4.50 out of $6 goes directly to the BCRF. So you pick your item, then pick one of the two pink threads available for monogramming. You can support until Oct 31 by ordering on LandsEnd.com/pinkthread," according to Amoratis.
