Got long locks? Mark your calendars because the 2nd annual National Donate Your Hair Day is September 7th! As always the campaign is encouraging people everywhere to go to beautiful lengths and give away their locks for a good cause, however this year there are some added perks for donating do-gooders. Seventeen Magazine's beauty director Yesenia Almonte tells us how to get in on the snipping action!
"Pantene, Walmart and Seventeen Magazine are partnering for this amazing day of giving where people nationwide are encouraged to get a major cut and donate their hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program," says Yesenia.
The program launched in 2006 and takes healthy hair generously donated to create free, real-hair wigs for those undergoing cancer treatments.
"This year the program is running a special promotion at Walmart offering those participating in the day a $30 rebate to cover the cost of their salon haircut," says Yesenia. So where do we start...
Step 1: request a donation kit from gotobeautifullengths.com.
Step 2: go to any salon of your choice and cut a minimum 8-inch ponytail...don't forget to follow the hair donation requirements!
Step 3: head to Walmart to purchase any Pantene product to style your new 'do; then mail in your salon and Walmart receipts, and most importantly your ponytail, using the pre-paid envelope from the donation kit to get up to $30 back for your salon visit.
If you can't donate your hair on September 7th don't worry--This promotion will be running at Walmart through October!
