A face refresh doesn’t need to require a mask with an expensive price tag or a trip to the spa for a facial. Some of the most potent ingredients to revitalize skin can be found right in your own kitchen. Check out these DIY homemade masks we love.

Lemon and Honey Facial
Since lemon contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), known to remove dead skin cells and honey is full of antioxidants – the combo of the two provides a skin brightening and evening out skin tone similar to a facial experience.

How to: Mix 1 tbsp of organic honey with the juice from half a lemon, apply and leave on for 20 minutes. Avoid eyes as lemon will sting!

Oatmeal Mask
The beloved breakfast food is actually great for treating inflammation and skin redness.

How to: Cook plain oatmeal, allow to cool and apply to affected areas and leave on for 10-15 minutes.

Avocado Sugar Scrub
Adding avocado to your scrub can act as moisturizer and also reduce inflammation and heal acne.

How to: Take half an avocado, ¼ cup aloe juice, ½ cup olive oil and mix in food processor until smooth and thick. Mix in 2 cups of cane sugar evenly. Gently massage the scrub onto face and then rinse off with warm water.

Turmeric Mask
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help prevent photoaging, acne, and several other skin conditions

How to: Take 2 full tbsp of yogurt and put in bowl. Mix in 2 tbsp of turmeric powder and 1 tbsp of honey until it is thick and creamy. Apply to face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Make sure to use a bowl you don’t care about to mix the mask because turmeric will stain!
