A recent survey commissioned by CeraVe found some shocking things about skincare, for starters 43% of Americans say cleansing is the most important step in a skincare routine, yet 38% admit to cleansing it less than ten days per month.

Also most people are aware that things such as stress, lack of sleep, diet, sweat and the weather can all affect the skin, but one culprit often overlooked that can have a major impact is pollution. In fact, the survey found 75% did not attribute pollution as a factor in their skin health.

Everyone is exposed to some degree of pollution, but those in major cities are especially prone. So how to put your best face forward and protect your skin this summer? Dermatologist, Dr. Michelle Henry, gives us the scoop.
