Host Leslie Jones and presenters Josh Gad, Tatiana Maslany, and Laverne Cox virtually announced the nominees for the 72nd Emmy Awards this morning. This year’s primetime award show will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel in a live broadcast on September 20.
Details are still unclear of how the event will happen in light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic but Kimmel said in a statement, “I don't know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this, but we are doing it and I am hosting it.”
The main event will be preceded by the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which will be held during a two-day ceremony from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday September 13.
