The Film Society of Lincoln Center's 41st Annual Chaplin Award Gala honored famed director Rob Reiner at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.
The actor, director and producer said the film that means the most to him is Stand By Me. "It probably reflects more of my sensibility than any of the others and I feel closer to it," said Reiner on the red carpet.
"You look back at some of the movies he's done and people just love each and every one of them," said his son Jake, "then you come to events like these and you're reminded again of what kind of person he is to everyone."
Some famous faces in attendance included Billy Crystal, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones to pay homage to classics such as Princess Bride, Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally.
"Just the fact that I made a few movies that have lasted for a little bit is very exciting," said the honored Reiner.
And he isn't done making movies yet--Basket Case is currently being written and And So It Goes with Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton comes out July 11th.
