"How did I change? How did I lose 55 pounds? How is my hair so shiny? How is my life better? How are my confidence levels better? How is my core strong? How did I manage to go from being 190 pounds -- no confidence, low self-esteem -- to being strong enough to be able to talk to you now?" These are the questions Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson has not only asked herself -- but answered, too.
And now the Duchess is sharing those answers in the hopes of giving support to all of those who have supported her, through a whole new platform: DuchessDiscoveries.com. "The new website is so exciting," she tells us, "It's called DuchessDiscoveries.com, and it is a website [so] that more people can join to really know the solutions for behavioral change and how they can lose weight, how they can feel better, how they can have a system and tools that can support their life."
Among those tools... The Fusion Xcelerator. As the Duchess explains, "The key to life is about giving your body, in every way, the right nutrients, not just in the hair, in the body or in the food. [When] juicing and blending, it takes out the fiber. This, you put in anything you want - kale and fruit, vegetables - you can't eat as much [of those things] as they say you need. Put it in this machine and out it comes -- and you drink it, and your metabolism kicks in. You get more energy, you get more life force, and you just believe everything's going to be possible because your brain functions better."
If the Duchess sounds enthusiastic, that's because she is -- and not just about her nutritional discoveries. "The Abcelerator is the most extraordinary machine; it's really fun, I love it. And after you've done your ab workout, you then put it on and it helps strengthen and tone so that you almost can see the beginnings of a six pack in my case - well, in my case, you might be able to." And when it comes to the glossy red locks she's famous for, she has a secret to share about hair as well. "There's the Perfecter Ultra which is an amazing tool, which nourishes and gives minerals to your hair. I never thought I could get rid of my frizz [when] in a very hot, humid place... Suddenly, my hair goes really frizzy. And yet with this new Perfecter Ultra, it's incredible because the Black Tourmaline is a very, very, very old Egyptian mineral that now is being baked into the irons and into the machine and so that when you do your hair, it smoothes and strengthens and just gives that wonderful shiny look, so I'm very excited about that, too."
So why share all of these discoveries...and why now? "In life, it's not just about taking. And the American people have been very good to me. They've stood by me; they've supported me through very, very tricky times. So have the British people and many people, many friends," explains the Duchess, "What I want to do is give back, and the way I give back is proceeds from Duchess Discoveries will go to help foundations and philanthropic opportunities...for example, Teen Cancer America [which] builds teenage cancer units in the United States [and] The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Britain; they put 12 inch metal rods down my daughter's spine because she has scoliosis. Then, with the solutions for behavioral change, I work as a global ambassador for the Institute of Global Health Innovation, and I'd like to be able to ask them, or perhaps help finance them, so that they can find more solutions for children through behavioral change. ... At this moment, children have a shorter life expectancy than their parents, and I want to change that around because that can't be right."
And the Duchess is honest about not having ALL of the answers, which is why she turns to the experts and then spreads the word. "I don't preach or teach. I don't say I'm a know-it-all...but what I do is I go and ask the best people for advice. ... And if by telling the advice and talking about the story, in openness and full candor and with great sincerity of heart, it provides people to have a little bit of hope...well, I guess then I peddle hope, and Duchess Discoveries is about hope."
The most important message The Duchess of York wants to put out into the world is, "You're not alone, you're being listened to. And...share. We will be here. I will be here. ... I have never given up and I think that [because of] that consistency and steadfastness to what I believe is right, wellness is what I can offer through DuchessDiscoveries.com."
