Actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth played game host in New York this week. The star joined forces with JCPenney to launch their "Get Your Penney's Worth" campaign.
"JCPenney really wants customers to remember that they know that your shopping experience is worth a lot of time, energy, effort and money," says the star.
Shoppers were invited to participate in a game where they could drop a penny puck into a "worth" game board and win a prize valued anywhere from ten to five hundred dollars seeing just how far their penny could go. The Penney Day promotions will go on throughout the year.
And select items available for just a penny and they'll start to announce deals next week so be on the lookout. The company conducted a survey and found that the penny may be tiny, but might. Nearly nine out of ten Americans still keep them around. Clearly the penny has a special place in people's hearts.
"I believe my first pair of jeans came from JCPenney," says Kristin, "I just remember that's where we went. You know it wasn't just like even a decision, that's just where we went so for me it's my childhood. "
The actress even shops there now. "I was making a movie in Alexandria, Louisiana a month ago and I went to the mall there in town and they had a JCPenney and I walked in and I was like JCPenney is so hip," she says "So it's a big representation of my growing up and even now."
So what else is she up to when shes not shopping? "So many things...I'm getting ready to put together my new album, I'm in the middle of a tour, I'm doing an animated movie for Paramount, I'm doing a new opera called I am Anne Hutchinson that will debut in Washington D.C. at the Strathmore theater in April," says the busy star.
