Cara Santana has a lot of to be excited about. A new movie, new episodes of show Salem and a new app offering up affordable luxury beauty for women which gives us all a reason to be excited! We caught up with the actress at New York Fashion week to get all the details.
Cara can't wait for her latest movie Smartass to come out. "It's going to premiere at Sundance," she says of the film based on director Jena Serbu's life as a 15 year-year-old runaway getting acquainted with California's "Murder City" and a slew of unsavory characters.
From the Murder City to the city of witches... Salem, Cara is currently busy at work on season two of the WGN series set in 17TH century colonial Massachusetts the location of the infamous witch trials. "...I go back to shooting my TV show Salem in January with Ashley Madekwe," she says enthusiastically.
And if being on the silver and TV screen wasn't enough now the stylish celeb is coming to your phone screen with her new app Glam bringing the best in hair, makeup and nails. "It's affordable and accessible luxury beauty, which I thought every woman deserves," she says and we agree.
The app is in 12 cities giving women the chance to look their best for less. "When you look good you feel good. When you feel good you're empowered," says Cara, "I just felt like there was a way for luxury beauty to be affordable and accessible.... a way to access the hair and makeup industry in a way that every woman, everywhere could have the red carpet treatment."
Don't have the app yet? Cara says an easy tip to step up beauty your game today is to simply wash your face. "I always wash my face at the end of the night," she says, "and I don't wear makeup unless I have to."
As for her diet she doesn't like to restrict herself. "I just think moderation... don't want to overthink it you just want to eat a healthy amount of everything carbs, greens, proteins, all of it," she says.
But with all her good habits she admits to a guilty pleasure that makes boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe cringe. "I'm like a reality TV addict. It's so mortifying," she confesses, "I'll watch a Real Housewives of anything... a Teen Mom.... like forget about it. Love and Hip Hop...I'm on it! It's bad. It's bad."
