The 94th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood last night. Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes made history as the first female trio to host the Oscars.
Beyoncé opened the show with her Oscar-nominated song, "Be Alive," from the film King Richard. The Williams sisters introduced the performance, recorded on their hometown tennis courts in Compton.
Troy Kotsur, the star of CODA, became the first deaf man to win an acting Oscar when he took home the award for Best Supporting Actor.
Ariana DeBose took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Anita in Steven Spielberg's remake of the musical West Side Story.
Megan Thee Stallion made a surprise appearance performing “We Don't Talk About Bruno" – the hit track from Disney's animated Encanto. Encanto won Best Animated Feature Film too.
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas won Best Original Song for "No Time to Die." They are the first siblings to win this award since Robert and Richard Sherman won it in 1964 for “Chim Chim Cher-ee” from Mary Poppins.
Jessica Chastain scored her first Oscar for Best Actress for her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
The night took a turn for the ugly after Will Smith apparently slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair. Smith went on to win his first Oscar as Best Actor for his role in King Richard.
The night ended on a high note when Lady Gaga accompanied Liza Minnelli in presenting Best Picture to CODA.
