If you’re one of the many that made a resolution to eat better in 2021 here are some of our fab eating hacks to help you stick to your goals.

Tip 1: Don’t Skip Breakfast
It is the most important meal of the day so be sure to pack it with plenty of satiating protein and fiber. This combo will keep your blood sugar levels steady, so you’ll feel filled, fueled and energized until lunchtime. Try this avocado toast recipe with whole-grain bread, avocado, fresh lemon juice and a pinch of Dash Everything but the Salt seasoning. You can add additional toppings on here too like an over-easy egg, hot sauce, sliced jalapenos, tomatoes, or cucumbers.

Tip 2: Steer Clear of the Salt Shaker
Most of us consume way more sodium than necessary and it can make you retain water and feel bloated. Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to pull back on the amount you use with some culinary creativity. Try swapping in tasty alternatives to replace or reduce the amount of salt you use in recipes. You can incorporate things like garlic, citrus juice, spices or salt-free seasoning blends, such as Dash. There’s a wide range so you can find a flavor for anything you’re cooking for around $3 at grocery stores.

Tip 3: Skip the Carbs
Instead of starchy carbs such as bread, rice, pasta and potatoes, load up your plate with veggies. They fill you up and of course are good for you. A recipe that fits the bill is this asparagus and mushroom cauliflower “risotto” made with riced cauliflower, asparagus, mushrooms, olive oil, garlic and onion and a few teaspoons of Dash Original blend seasoning. Add a splash of cream and parmesan cheese.

Tip 4: Find New Healthy Ingredients
Make an effort to pick up one new good-for-you ingredient each week and find interesting ways to use it. A new fruit, veggie or whole grain will help keep you interested and in the game. They offer different tastes and textures, so you get to experience new flavors. An easy way to do this is with a seasonal soup.
