National Vodka Day is October 4th. Here at the LifeMinute Studios, we toast the day by mixing up a dirty, dry, and vodka martini with a twist. Here are our recipes.
Before making each martini, place the cocktail glasses in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
Dirty Martini
Ingredients
-6 ice cubes
-3 oz. vodka
-½ oz. dry vermouth
-1 oz. olive juice
-2 blue cheese stuffed olives
Instructions
Stir the vodka, olive juice, and vermouth with ice in a mixing glass. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with blue cheese stuffed olives.
Dry Martini
Ingredients
-6 ice cubes
-4 oz. vodka
-½ oz. dry vermouth
-Olives for garnish
Instructions
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the vodka and vermouth. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with olives.
With a Twist
Ingredients
-6 ice cubes
-2 oz. vodka
-½ oz. dry vermouth
-1 strip lemon zest
Instructions
Stir the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice for about 30 seconds, then strain into a chilled martini glass. Peel a strip of zest from a lemon, fold it lengthways over the drink, wipe it around the rim of the glass, twist it, and drop it into the drink.
