Peanut butter is not only a creamy and delicious snack but can also be used to stave off disease and foster health. Here are the pros of incorporating PB into your diet.

Peanut butter contains a substance called p-coumaric acid which helps off-set the damage done to cells associated with cardiovascular diseases. It also contains more unsaturated fat than saturated making it a 'healthy fat'  food which lowers the risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart disease.

Weight-Loss Friendly
Peanut butter is high in protein and fiber and can help suppress hunger and keep you feeling fuller for longer.

Builds Strong Bones and Muscles
PB is a great source of iron, calcium and potassium which helps repair and grow muscles.

Promotes Brain Health
It protects against Alzheimer’s Disease and other neurodegenerative diseases because it is high in niacin, which aids in the recovery of cell damage of the brain and the p-coumaric acid found in peanut butter helps fight the oxidative stress on the cells of the body associated with neurodegenerative diseases.

Peanut butter is packed with cancer-fighting vitamin E and has been shown to positively affect blood sugar control and help decrease the risk of diabetes.

Make Your Own Peanut Butter 

Ingredients

4 cups roasted peanuts, unsalted

½ teaspoon salt

½ tablespoons honey

Instructions

-In a food processor, add ingredients. Grind constantly until the mixture is smooth

-Pour the mixture into jars, seal tightly, and refrigerate to store.
