Just when you think everyone’s favorite campfire classic couldn’t get better, here are ways to make the marshmallowy treat even sweeter. Try these ingredient swaps and remixed recipes the next time you make the gooey dessert.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Creation
Swap out that boring chocolate bar for a Reese’s cup.
Sa'moares
To put a Samoa cookie spin on your s'more, spread warm caramel on the inside of a graham cracker and then sprinkle it with coconut flakes.
Fluffernutter
Lose the chocolate, and add peanut butter to turn your s’more into a Fluffernutter-like sandwich. Stuff in bananas for some extra sweetness!
Cookie S’monster
Sub out those graham crackers for your favorite cookies.
Candy Apple
Add apple slices and drizzle caramel sauce on the inside of your s’mores.
Gourmet S’mores sans the Campfire
Get fancy with your chocolate by using a premium brand such as Lindt or Theo. You can also skip the fire pit and give your marshmallow the lightly burnt look using a kitchen torch if you have one. If not, turn on your oven broiler and place a tray of marshmallows on a rack about 6 inches beneath the broiler. Broil for 30-90 seconds, watching carefully as the marshmallows toast. Garnish with fresh fruit such as strawberries or raspberries and top with powdered sugar or chocolate.
