The models walking the runway at Betsey Johnson, dripping in beads and bling, could have just as easily been walking down the aisle as they playfully pouted and posed in glitzy, glamorous wedding wear from what the designer calls her "favorite collection -- ever, ever, ever."
The celebs and socialites in attendance were delighted to join the wedding party, filled with voluminous dresses in bright pinks and aquas, and cheeky pantsuits in wedding white. Actress Christina Milian says of Johnson, "She's such a free spirit...I love her energy, so it's really cool to be here." Adds Tinsley Mortimer, "She's such a great, awesome designer, and [there's] so much life in her. And I love her clothes -- they're so fun and vibrant."
For Betsey Johnson,"[It's a] collection about love. I mean, it was really fun to do, kind of couture [and] fun...from the clothes to the people to the hair [to] the perfect wedding nail."
Of the tousled tresses, topped with crowns of flowers and bold bridal headpieces, Hairstylist Rafe Hardy says, "I guess you would don it as 'Modern-Day Messy Marilyn." Marilyn Monroe, that is...
And as for the nails, Danielle Candido, Morgan Taylor Lead Stylist, explains, "We have a lot going on in the nails. [Betsey] wanted for this collection to have a sophisticated, but still really fun bling-y presentation."
To nail the look, Morgan Taylor's signature Varsity Jacket on the back of the nail, and then the mixing and layering of colors Oh Snap, It's Silver, In the Nude and Bronzed and Beautiful faded onto the front of the nail -- and some bling to add a little extra pop to it.
The ladies for which the lacquer is named, Morgan Haile and Taylor Daniel, offered their take on the brand behind the look. Daniel says, "For me, it's the colors themselves, the color palette and making sure that we've got a tone or a finish to represent any personality type..." Haile agrees, "What you see in the bottle is what you're going to get...It's all about quality and color."
And while the first dance at a wedding gets a spotlight, the designer -- and Dancing With the Stars contestant -- saved the last dance for herself, ending her colorful party of a show by performing a cartwheel on the runway.
