Boy Meets Girl Fall 2013, Rocker Chic
Designer Stacy Igel debuts her rocker chic fall 2013 collection at the Metropolitan Pavillion taking color cues from a mix of famous performers.
"This line is actually inspired by the 90s pop scene and it's about that invasion as an artist. So, in that line I actually have pops of color like the red and the blue and this amethyst pink color and we've got accents in my young girls line that has the Spice Girl influence of the neons and greens and yellows. So, you will see the evolution of the brand and the music infused and what it does to the collection," says Stacy Igel, Designer.
Charcoal and black also hit a high note with edgy mini skirts and leather jackets.
"I love how fun and light and super wearable her stuff is. It's very modern. And it's very present and it's contemporary and it's just really fun," says actress Rosario Dawson.
The band of beauties emerge from backstage with a youthful look.
"We are taking a bold red and we are pressing it with fingers into the lip for more of a popsicle stain and we are pairing that with a celestial bronzer for warm glow and a black mascara and it's a really simple look," says James Vincent, Makeup Artist.
With Bob Dylan and Joan Baez on the brain, designer Igel employs easy going hairdos.
"The kids are actually pulled back in a ponytail and then we've actually crimped the hair just to give it a bit more texture and fullness. And then for the adults it is actually a clean ponytail wrapped with hair to give it a bit more strength and it's really nice," says Ric Pipino, Hair Stylist.
