The stacked snow banks outside Lincoln Center seem miles away when you sit down to watch Trina Turk's show.
"The whole idea is to represent driving through Los Angeles down Sunset Blvd and all the different things you see when you do that," says the designer.
What colorful scenery -- everyone's got a beret on and prints are vivid from florals to black and white tweed.
"The most interesting colors are loganberry ... which is kind of a bright berry color and then we're using it back to a burnt orange color ... which is a really complimentary juxtaposition of color," says Turk.
West Coast weather didn't just influence the clothes.
"The lip is fairly nude and the eye was sort of inspired by sunset colors," adds Turk.
Make-up artist Sara Biria has a secret weapon her beauty booty.
"Fuchsia has this great red in it and the red can enhance your green eyes your hazel eyes your blue tones. It's like you've daring to play with color but nobody knows it. And yet it's making your eyes pop," she reveals.
Hair stylist, Martin Christopher Harper prepares the models hair for a ride down Sunset Boulevard in a convertible.
"It has this modern feel to it and it allows for the face to not take away from the clothes."
Turk did want the accessories to stand out at the show. She did raspberry stripey sandals, suede tan loafers on the guys and pointy-toe python booties.
"This is our first fall with shoes and also handbags. There's a lot of firsts for us with this presentation," says Turk.
