Carolina Herrera Fall 2013, Unmatched Elegance
Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour and Supermodel Molly Sims are among the attendees at Carolina Herrera's elegant fall fashion show.
"She sent me a fabulous dress and I was like "oh yes, I will come!" I have worn her dresses for years. Her clothes are so chic and beautiful and they pull you in and make you feel sexy," says Molly Sims.
The Venezuelean designer knows sexy and has had a solid reputation for 30 years while other labels have come and gone. Her dresses stay true to their sophisticated style this year with some new embellishments, prints, fur and satin.
"She's probably one of the most elegant women after so many years that just keeps going and going and bringing us beautiful clothes every year," says Sims.
Feminine chiffon dances down the runway to classical music. Dark red fur outerwear hits a welcome glamour note.
"The look is 40s inspired, so I have this roll that kind of comes around with this middle part," says Orlando Pita, Hair Stylist.
Hair and make-up is subtle at the show so as not to compete with the blues, burgundys and eye catching florals.
"We are doing a really nice sheer foundation with a little bit of a thin liner at the top of the lash line ... little bit of like a reddish brown contour color ... and a creamy, shiny lip tone," says Susie Sobol, Makeup Artist.
Carolina does pile on the accessories: sunglasses, bags, hats and belts.
"I'm a fan of the line's feminine, classic, tailored pieces. It's just nice to feel like a lady sometimes," says actress Maggie Grace.
