Christian Siriano's Spring 2015 collection crashes Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a fresh wave of shimmery blue designs inspired by the artwork of glass sculptor Sergio Redegalli.
"I think [Christian is] a genius," says Mena Suvari, "The fabric that he uses and the colors...[and] the inspiration that he brings into his new looks for the season..."
The fabrics gleam like the glass artwork that inspired Siriano's creations. "All of his works are bodies of water...," says the Project Runway victor of the Australian sculptor, "So you get the deep, deep dark navies, and then you get the highest bright point from the sun, and then all the kind of blue tones in the middle.
Comedian Amy Schumer was blown away by the designs. "I was getting emotional," she says, "They like fulfill sort of, like, a childhood fantasy about being a princess."
Siriano goes into uncharted waters for the line with the introduction of white, relaxed silhouettes. "We did a lot of wash silks that were really quite flowy," he says, "You know, not a lot of them, but for me and our brand it's quite new."
Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba loves the crisp look. "I thought it was so beautiful and so elegant," she says.
