At the Duckie Brown Show, teen idol Joe Jonas sings designer Steven Cox and Daniel Silver's praises.
"I'm always impressed by what they put together," chirped the song bird.
This year they put together men and women. Flowy skirts are mixed in with boxy jackets for guys (perhaps Jonas's brothers). And color hits a high note with red and sparks of a throwback fluorescent reminiscent of the 80s soda Mellow Yellow.
"This season was much more about evening. There's a lot of silks and taffetas. We've gone back to a lot of color," says designer Steven Cox.
The color palette still dips into some somber grays and lots of navy. Hues aren't the only change, the tailoring takes a shift.
"The silhouettes are tighter, more sexy, more chic. It's the right amount of androgyny that works both ways," says Nigel Barker, photographer.
It all seems like a step in the right direction -- even the shoes.
"We have women's shoes that we did with Ruthie Davis. And we have a real interesting shoe for men this year," says Silver.
For the ladies, it's a return of pointy toes and kitten heels and the guys wear a cross between a ballet flat and a loafer.
"Yeah - it's a slip on," says Cox.
They just slip it on ... that's what the ladies say about BCBG clothes.
"I love their clothes. I wear them all the time. Whether I am cooking or going out with my husband or doing my night time shows. It's the kind of clothes that allow me to be comfortable but yet look sexy," says celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis.
It's a landmark year for the french label. Top magazine editors hustle to their front row seats to view the print dresses, color block pieces and bold stripes.
"BCBG always kicks off NY Fashion Week and it's their 25th anniversary this season so we are here to celebrate them," says Joanna Coles, Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan.
The real show stoppers are statement leather and fur pieces like a hand muff and sheepskin collared coat. Designer Lubov Azria sees the future very clearly:
"Basically the collection was inspired by our 25 year anniversary. So we've been doing shows for 18 years. And what we stand for is timeless elegance. And affordable luxury. Shirt dresses, t-shirt dresses .. things that I want to wear everyday," she says.
Now that's something to sing about.
