Duckie Brown Fall 2013 Play on Proportions
The models get a light touch up backstage at Duckie Brown -- but once they hit the spotlight, designers Steven Cox and Daniel Brown, lay it on thick.
"For winter we always do layering and we always ask questions - and it's like ... why is a coat with a heavy on the outside and light on the inside. So, we've reversed that," says designer Steven Cox.
The menswear label plays with proportions -- cropped coats on top with knee-length pieces peeking out. The outerwear covers it all from zip-ups and exaggerated silhouettes to tapered trenches and leather bombers. The collection flags red, white and blue as the colors to flirt with.
"Coats, coats. more coats and more coats than that -- but done in unusual ways and in unexpected fabrications," Daniel Silver, designer, Duckie Brown.
Some coats look more like pullover sweaters.
"I'm a huge, huge, huge, huge fan of Duckie Brown. Huge. Because it's that kind of clothes that a guy with a little bit of fashion, adventure can wear. It's not traditional," Miss Jay, Runway Coach.
A denim jacket is as classic as Duckie Brown gets but an irredescent piece follows it up ... keeping the tone cutting edge.
"Menswear is so boring and I think Duckie Brown they think big, they're interesting, they're just exciting," Robert Verdi, Celebrity Stylist.
