Fall Fashion Survival Guide
By: Jorge Ramon
Fall is just around the corner - time to get our fashion closets in check. For help we turned to celebrity stylist Jorge Ramon. What are the must-have trends for fall?
Jorge: Well retro 50's, 60's, even 80's are back. But this fall it's all about looking polished. The most important trend for the season is tailoring so think menswear inspired suits and crisp collared shirts. How can we get the look for less? What pieces should we invest in?
Jorge: You can get a fashion update by just investing in a few pieces. This season we will be celebrating pants. The perfectly pressed pant is going to be your most important purchase. Look for wide leg styles and for pleated versions. Also, if you have pantsuits, it's time to pull them out of your closet and wear them again! If you want to make this look work for you - you need the right tools. A good iron will be your best friend this season. The fashion industry uses the Rowenta Pro Master-it's the official garment care provider of fashion week. This iron provides an extra long burst of steam because it features a patented soleplate with 400 microholes. It will help you iron much more effectively with less time and effort. Also if you're investing in a quality suit, you should only have it dry cleaned a few times a year. Refresh it and remove wrinkles between wears with a steamer. The Precision Valet allows you to adjust the steam level based on the type of fabric. The integrated hanger on top also allows for steaming garments to be fast and easy. What are some other tips for keeping our wardrobes and budgets in check this fall?
Jorge: Start the season by assessing what's already in your closet. You might find some charms in there that are back in style. Also, update your wardrobe with accessories; look for those with a retro 50's and 60's feel - cat eye sunglasses and structured handbags are your best bet. Plus, don't forget to care for the items you buy. Fashion is cyclical so if you keep items in good shape year after year you can wear them again when they come back in style. Some things to remember...don't over wash garments. Delicate fabrics can pill and lose their color. Always fold and store your knits flat and always hang your and coats and jackets so they retain their shape.
