ICB by Prabal Gurung Spring 2015: Fringe Benefits and Tons of Color
Prabal Gurung's rainbow striped backdrop on the runway set the stage for his colorful collection that came down the catwalk. The designer successfully straddles the line between budget babes mining the racks at Target (Tarjay) and glamour gals with deep pockets filling the front row at Fashion Week. He appeals to every woman.
"I'm a fan of the clothing, and I just met Prabal backstage so that was really exciting as well. He is so sweet. So yeah, I'm really excited, " says Yvonne Strahovski.
But this spring, he's crushing on sporty city girls. The silhouette is loosey-goosey and freedom is expressed with a lot of fringe.
"I'm a huge fan of the ICB collection, and I love that he mixes denims and fringe and really fun fabrics, and he does it in a casual and hip way. It's fun," says Holland Roden.
The collection is a kaleidoscope of colors, like melon with flashes of floral and bright white. Tweed dresses, mesh and blue chambray, are stand-outs in the relaxed line-up.
Like the clothes, hair was everywhere. "There's a lot of fabric draping off these gorgeous tops and gorgeous skirts, and it all feels very long, and we wanted the hair to be a continuation," says stylist Anthony Turner.
Glamour shots from Prabal's backstage beauty scene ... single strips of glitter on finger tips, the Brazillian of nail art ... explode on Instagram. "Very creamy luminous skin. We are using our fingers for everything. We are doing a wash of this gorgeous, like, mushroom taupe color on the eye, so it looks almost like their natural tone and then using this new eye gloss that's incredible. It has this glitter pigment through it that looks very wet without looking makeup-y. It's really beautiful," says Hannah Murray, makeup artist .
ICB Spring 2015 is all about the mix, ladies.
