As Paris Fashion Week Fall 2015 comes to a close, fashion followers of Issey Miyake can look forward to a Fall where a familiar inspiration for the design house takes shape in a bold and brilliant new fabric. Issey Miyake Women's Wear Designer Yoshiyuki Miyamae explains...
"We made a new fabric this collection so we call it...kaleidoscope," says Miyamae, adding that the structure of nature provided inspiration for the Fall 2015 collection.
Muted olives, reds and purples met their match in cobalt blue block-patterned separates, though it was the almost-abstract kaleidoscope pattern that dominated the collection's thick coats, voluminous layers and folds of fabric. And for the grand finale, a twirling spectacle of long full skirts streaked with pleats of bright color made a lasting impression.
To balance out the bold looks, the beauty motif was kept simple but reflective of the techniques used in the collection. For the hair... "I make a special cut, so also same technique," says Miyamae, adding with a smile, "We had a good collaborat[ion]."
