NYFW 2014 / Spring is Full of Surprises
A few days into New York Fashion Week and many must have messages are clear: from the color yellow to edgy undertones to ultra feminine -- and the front seats are filling-up with supermodels like Heidi Klum and superstars like Alyssa Millano

Fashion week is in full swing and the must haves are popping-up across like spring flowers.
"I imagined a party among fireflies and birch trees in the dark and people coming together and crying and laughing," says Giovanna Randall.
At the Honor show there's plenty of girly to go around.
"She has hit a incredible mark that's like a very hard balance to find it's like girly and feminine but it still has an edge and a texture," actress Zosia Mamet.
Braids are big.
"The collection is built on where one thing ends and one begins. So, we are pulling the hair into a side ponytail," says hairstylist James Pecis.
Mettalics make a mark. Heidi Klum shimmers in a gold gown.
"I want to thank all of you for coming to the season finale of project runway," says Heidi Klum.
And actress Alyssa Millano sported bright yellow, a popular color throughout all the collections.
"I'm glad I don't have to judge this show because those judges are going to have a hard time trying to decide. It was beautiful," says actress Alyssa Millano.
But when it comes to the boys, Duckie Brown takes away the hot hues.
"The color was very neutral ... white and camel," says designer Daniel Silver. "The collection is about t shirts and shorts," he adds.
Many designers are embracing the familiar as well as taking risks.
"Very very traditional and very very untraditional," says designer Steven Cox.
Rebecca Minkoff spices-up her signature dresses.
"So what's new for spring is I was inspired by strong, latin american women ... colors, flowers, texture and embellishment, " says Rebecca Minkoff.
It's apparently all in the details.
"This is one of our dresses. This was a textile we developed to look like a mexican blanket but more feminine. This is a great vest. Vests are going to be big this season," says Minkoff.
Spring is full of surprises. But leave it to Lacoste to remind us amid the ethnic effects, asymmetrical cuts and pumped-up patterns there's always a place for classic.
"I mean it's great. Really fun. It's very wearable. I enjoy it," says Leigh Lezark, Celeb DJ.
