The look for Fall 2015 at BCBCGMAXAZRIA was fresh, outdoorsy and dominated by spectacular coats. Designer Lubov Azria explains, "Well, this Fall collection is really inspired by my travel from Barcelona to the Baltic Sea. And it's driven really by sportswear pieces; it's all about separates. One of the key pieces, I think, or the key items in the collection is all about the coats. I think we have the most beautiful coats this season ever."
Loose, lengthy coats were draped over short skirts, paired with rich brown leather thigh high boots. Giant cozy cowl neck collars began below the neckline, stretching up to above the chin and colorblock separates made their way down the runway in muted grays, browns, black and white.
Model Petra Nemcova is a fan of the collection as much as she is of the husband-and-wife designers behind it. "Max and Lubov are just incredible," says Nemcova, "In their hearts, their talent, their energy, I really, really admire them."
Actress Sami Gayle agrees, "The two of them, Lubov and Max, are like the greatest people ever. I think it's so important to not only love the brand but the people behind it." Model Coca Rocha adds, "BCBG...I mean, I used to do their show, from the beginning, and they were huge supporters of my career, and that was very helpful, so therefore I come definitely to support them now."
While this Barcelona-to-the-Baltic journey is a sophisticated one, the look is more fresh than fancy as Makeup Artist Val Garland explains, "The look is very outdoorsy. Very sort of...it's real. There's a rush of blush on a bit of a very bitten lip."
And for the hair... "The look is a world traveler," says Hair Stylist Orlando Pita, "It's someone who is roughing it. This is building a texture. This is building a texture for a girl that has no brush, no curling iron, sleeping in a tent."
Sleeping in a tent never looked so good...
