NYFW Spring 2014 / Charlotte Ronson: Bookworm Beauty
Charlotte Ronson's tomboy takes a trip to Paris and the Hilton girls are there

A French girl frolicking in The Big Apple is the image designer Charlotte Ronson goes after for her spring collection.
"She's studious and intellectual but she likes to have fun," says Ronson.
The designing diva has certainly studied the fun frock formula. This spring, she gets an A+ for Peter Pan collars, asymmetrical silhouettes and her Parisian palette.
"It's all about vibrant pastels with more graphic black and white elements," says Ronson.
The Hilton girls, who have likely partied in the French city ad nauseum ... one of them even named after it ... are big fans.
"I love Charlotte's collection I'm actually wearing it tonight," says a black leather clad Paris.
Little sister Nicky's must have?
"Charlotte always does amazing floral sundresses so I try to get those every spring from her collection," she admits.
The collection never gets too precious for the platform-wearing Parisian chic. Case and point: an eyelet jumpsuit with peekaboo details struts the catwalk. A few pieces hit a high note with singer/songwriter Kate Nash...
"There's a dress that's like black and white check that's pretty cool and I like the shirt with a little color and there's a white dress with triangles cut here. So there's a few I've got my eye on yeah," she says.
Ronson's girls are tomboy enough that they could get a black eye -- maybe that's the inspiration for the model's makeup.
"Beauty this season is heavier, darker, tougher eye and then the rest is simple," says Ronson.
And there's plenty of loose hair for pulling or setting free from a pin. Call it: librarian sexy.
"And the hair was the girl's natural texture as they came in and then a middle part and then pulling a little piece over to the side. So a little bit of a Charlotte Ronson pullover," says the designer with a smirk.
Ronson's trip to Paris is a fun one with something for everyone.
"It's always about the prints and kind of having that sex appeal with a tomboy twist and this time there's a little bookworm too," says Ronson.
