As Fashion Week spring 2014 winds down in Lincoln Center the trends are piling up. At Carolina Herrera it's all about fabulous fabrics.
"When you take the materials and you layer one on top of the other you create a literal multi dimensional experience .. to look at the materials moving that visually important kinetic thing .. I'm very happy with it," says Herrera.
Onlookers might think their vision is getting blurry after a week long flurry of shows but those are deliberate details on Herrera's dresses. Actress Christina Hendricks is hooked.
"I'm a long time fan of Carolina. I think she's beautiful classic and amazing I wanted to come here and see every beautiful thing she made," swoons Hendricks
Playing with organza, silk, and cotton is one style story unfolding while Pamella Roland courts fresh color combos.
"Spring you always have to have color but what I did is put some grey in there to make them a little more interesting," says Roland.
Colorblock dresses and a pretty pink one will no doubt make it onto the backs of major A-listers.
"Pamella's gowns are red carpet ready when they walk out and that's why you see so many stars wearing them," says Jay Manuel - Makeup Artist.
Long is the trend at Cornejo's show Zero.
"Maria Cornejo has such a happy free spirited sensibility and I always like to see what she's up to," says Cindy Weber Cleary - Fashion Director, InStyle.
Fun fabric, punchy palettes and slinky silhouettes are all in-style next spring ... then add shimmer to the list.
"We are imagining our woman on her yacht diving into the Aegean sea and emerging as a mermaid,"says designer James Mischka.
Like silver slivers in the sand the design duo really capture that shades of sea life.
"And it's a beautiful array of gorgeous ocean underwater kind of jacquards," adds Mark Badgley
Famous faces are everywhere you turn at Fashion Week, planning to fill up their spring closets.
"They're very sexy, i'm loving the sheer. John loves sheer. But the flowiness of them is everything," says Victoria Secret vet Christine Teigen.
Model and activist Petra Nemcova sees it as one stop shopping.
"What brings me here are their amazing creations and looking to select the next outfit for a red carpet which are coming up," says Nemcova.
With three hundred shows at Fashion Week, you're sure to get caught up in the trend traffic.
