NYFW Spring 2014 / DAILY 8: Neon to Classic
Designers are entertaining us as much as they're dressing us this Fashion Week...

You've gotta love Betsey Johnson's spirit. She brings it to the runway every year after year -- no apologies.
"The collection is very stingy. It's all about what I want to wear. Kind of my smartest show yet," says the bubbly Johnson
If she doesn't say so herself! But we'll say it too -- neon pink wigs and floral frocks in fabulous colors make you want to whip off your glasses and undo your ponytail.
"We love Betsey. She is the oldest, young designer in the business and the youngest, old designer in the business," says Fern Mallis, Fashion Consultant.
Johnson's carefree styles include jumpsuits too and always a spot of leopard.
"She has always marched to the beat of her own drummer. She doesn't play the game of this is in that's out," muses Robert Verdi, Style Expert.
Minis are mixed in with mesh gowns and flowy organza numbers.
"I've been wearing her dresses since I was a little girl, " says Paris Hilton.
Betsy has us doing cartwheels and Michael Kors has our mouths watering. Kors camel-colored, snakeskin tops are the perfect example of how he puts a twist on classic. He always delivers staples like pencil skirts but doesn't forget a dose of sexy like thigh high slits to show some leg when you board that plane to the islands. Soo jet set.
At Marc Jacob's the presentation is more like theatre than a fashion show. The scene is sort of spring shipwreck but there's nothing disastrous about the clothes .. Jacobs delivers closing drama with dark Victorian looks.. officers jackets, shorts, loose dresses and velour sweatshirts.
"It's exciting, a little overwhelming but I can't wait to see the work, " says Deborah Ann Wall actress.
