NYFW Spring 2014 / Duckie Brown: The Bowl Cut is Back!
Bowl cuts are back, at least that's one strong style message coming from Duckie Brown designers this fashion week
From the LifeMinute team
All this fashion week fun isn't just for girls, Duckie Brown brings it for the boyz.
"The collection is really about t-shirts and shorts," says designer, Daniel Silver.
Being well dressed always seems easier for men. Shorts and t-shirts? That simple? Well, not exactly.
"Very, very traditional and very, very untraditional," says designer Steven Cox.
Duckie's male models are quite feminine, wearing visible make-up and sporting oversized blazers that resemble shift dresses.
"The color was very neutral. It was white and camel," says Steven Cox.
The collection may not play the color card but make-up artist Michele Probst is sure the guys don't look washed out.
"We collaborated on creating a real fresh, dewey, sun-kissed look to go with Duckie's fresh take on the clothes," she says.
From faces to heads .. the hair do is a real throwback.
"The look is based on a 60s haircut .. which was called the purty .. which was the bowl haircut they all have," says Martin Cullen, Hair Stylist.
The bowl cut making a comeback? Nigel Barker, host of the "The Face," is on the edge of his seat.
"I actually wear quite bit of Duckie Brown clothing. I've never been to one of his shows so finally it's time," says Barker.
Just when we think the guys have it easy, Duckie Brown reminds us ... no one should dial it in this Spring.
"Ya know, we are always looking for what's fresh for spring and I think this is the collection to see ... ya know to bring edge to your spring wardrobe," Jay Manuel.
