NYFW Spring 2014 / Jenny Packham: Details Diva
Packham packs on the details taking the 70s on a trip to the Eduardian era

Jenny Packham doesn't let the love she's gotten from Kate Middleton stop her from delivering a royal fashion fest for fashion week.
"She flatters a woman's curves and she really knows how to help women feel sexy but also elegant. The fashion is very Eduardian. The hair is an interesting dichotomy it's huge, sexy and moving and tousled, " says Louise Roe, Fashion Journalist
An Australian movie set in an Edwardian boarding school is the inspiration. But if you think the high waists and high collars are prim and proper you need to look closer.
"It's a period piece.. Edwardian.. but we are giving a nod to the 70s but we are adding lots of volume and curl to keep it romantic but that volume and wedge shape is going to give it that 70s feel," says Packham.
The clothing is so very vintage in shades of faded pink but the hair conjures images of JLO's Flashdance video remake. The combination is surprisingly sexy.
Packham does not disappoint when it comes to her signature details. The woman does glitz, bling and shine better than anyone. The challenge for make-up artist Talia Shobrook is to not get flashy with makeup.
"The most important thing was the skin ... we wanted to make it ethereal, very sort of fresh, flowy. It was very important that it didn't look makeupy because if you want to convey youthful skin then you should not have it look like a lot of makeup involved but then with the glitter there was that hint of the 70s and that naughtiness of playing around and we allowed it to fall on each girl how it falls so it didn't look so uniform," says Shobrook.
If the fashion world had superheros Jenny Packham would be Detail Girl!
"She's the queen of embellishment .. attention to detail, beading, sequence .. whether it's a bridal gown or a red carpet gown .. no one else does it like her," says Louise Roe, Fashion Journalist
