Catherine Malandrino sets sail on a style journey that feels like a very fresh take on nautical.
"On a boat in St. Tropez ... and I thought it was quite inspiring to do everyday clothes but clothes that are ready for performance too. It's about the woman of style," says the designer.
The collection is stylish and silky, everything moves like it's flapping in the breeze. Dresses and ruffled tops have fun prints from florals to sailboats. There are different shades of blue ... like the ocean ... some light, some darker .. paired with crisp white.
"The look is kind of like Sunday on a yacht and enjoying the weather. We used Stilla convertible color in gladiola. It's a great yellow orange ... gives you that sun touched look," says Cory Bishop Makeup Artist.
From oranges and yellows to reds and raspberries -- the french designer is definitely embracing the colorful side of spring. Mary J. Blige is singing her praises...
"Oh my friend Catherine Malandrino, she is never trying to do fashion, she is fashion and everything she does is effortless, sexy, edgy -- all the things that don't make you look like you're trying too hard you just put on your gear and you just fly," says Blige.
Malandrino rocked keyhole necklines and cut outs adding sex appeal to the seascape along with shorts paired with black and white bralettes.
"It's so elegant and so beautiful and it's just so chic. Her dresses are unbelievable and flowy and amazing and perfect," gushes big fan and actress Katie Cassidy.
The show .. not presented on a runway .. transports you to the deck of a boat. And her signature feminine cuts could fit even a mermaid.
"It's real women clothing it drapes just ever so slightly over the curves even her dress down leisure wear is sexy. If I had to walk away with a piece right now it would be that blue romper with the dropped crotch and the hood," says actress Taraji P. Henson.
