West Coast girls we really dig those clothes they wear and Trina Turk does too

California dreamin' .. Trina Turk did a lot of it while designing her spring 2014 collection.
"Our theme is California road trip we are incorporating Mr. Turk, which is our men's collection, and also mixing our swimwear into the looks. We were playing with the idea of total look sets. So a top and bottom with matching fabric," explains Turk.
The beach party attire includes gals in mid-drift tops paired with full skirts and bubble sunglasses. The guys dance around in pastel plaids, t-shirts and staw hats.
"What I love about this collection is beach fun, kind of throw it in a bag, go on an adventure, yeah -- great ! " says actress Perrey Reeves.
She gets the message: suit-up and grab your sarong !
"There are some long gowns but styled in a very casual way. It looks really great. We are excited about it," says Turk.
Sunny yellow, a lovely lilac and bright chartreuse swirls around the show. Hats have colorful paisley. Chunky metallic sandals are suitable for a good boogie on the boardwalk. Short shorts are teamed-up for a classic combo with long sleeve stripe shirts in new colors.
"There is a hint of color we are calling Grapefruit .. which is really the key color ... a peachy, pink grapefruit type color ... and we carried that through in the makeup," says Turk.
The lowdown on locks? Easy, breezy.
"Hair -- we just did beach hair -not- overworked it's just like -- it's the girl's hair!" says the designer.
"It's a look anyone can get with a minimal amount of time," says Martin Christopher-Harper, Hair Stylist.
If you need a little shade from the brights -- black and whites are big but still loud in their graphic nature. Turk's one roadtrippin' must have?
"I guess what I really want to wear is, there is a washed chambray mechanic's suit that is super slouchy and drapey. You could make it look masculine or super feminine with heels. It looks really great and it seems like you could wear it a lot of different places," she says.
The West Coast girls ... we really dig the clothes they wear.
