Rebecca Minkoff Weather and Leather
Snow didn't stop the stiletto crowd from strutting in to Lincoln Center for Rebecca Minkoff's funky fall collection at New York fashion week. "What's new for fall is I think I've really expanded my range in terms of what I'm offering. It's a true sportswear collection, from everything, from, I think, the incredible outerwear down to our usual sexy dress," says Rebecca Minkoff.
The dresses are bright with blown-up sleeves. "I feel like she designs them for her and her friends .. you know what I mean .. so she obviously is on point with trend," says actress, Shenae Grimes. But Minkoff's a bit of a space cadet this collection with her far out construction details and colors named after planets. No wonder she kept the hair down to earth. "So the look today is all about just a really clean blow out with a center part and we are just teasing it just a little bit so it stays really sleek which I think actually gives the hair a lot more movement," says, hair stylist, Jeanie Syfu.
The weather outside seems the perfect backdrop for her coats ..quilted, color block, long and short. And for storing those hats and gloves Minkoff's iconic handbags are slicker than ever. "The accessories I had a lot of fun . I chose to do this sort of oil slick leather color which has this wash that almost looks like an oil slick and that's on our handbags and our shoes and in our jewelry," says Rebecca Minkoff.
"Ya know Rebecca always has such a fun show and everyone loves her on such a personal level that it's really nice to be a part of it," Fashion Editor, Eva Chen. Rebecca Minkoff seems to be finding her way -- even through Nemo the Nor'Easter.
