Lusting after gorgeous runway styles needn't be a spectator sport. You can implement the of-the-moment trends into your own fashion and beauty repertoire with the right style and your own brand of confidence.
1. Do Your Research
There's something for everyone next season. Spring 2016 will usher in florals in bold colors and patterns and ubiquitous black and white; loads of lace, fringe, dare-to-bare shoulders and longer hemlines.
"I've seen lots of light looks." Petra Nemcova, model
"I love the cool colors, I love the blacks and whites." Bella Thorne, actress
"It's so delicate and kind of whimsical looking." Katrina Bowden, actress
Nail trends ran the gamut as well; think everything from dusty rose to bursts of poppy to splashes of red. Morgan Taylor Lacquer created super modern looks like a chic tri-tone mani with silver tips at the Jonathan Simkhai show. And more playful looks like marbling and geometric shapes complemented the clothes at Betsy Johnson's fiftieth anniversary extraveganza.
2. Stay True To Yourself
Just because it's on the runway or in a magazine doesn't mean it's the best look for you.
"We should always have an inner sense of self, and if something is not right in terms of our body type or our lifestyle then just don't do it."
Avril Graham, Executive Fashion and Beauty Editor, Harper's Bazaar
"When it comes to nails I think you have to take a page out of Betsy's book. Don't let anyone define you. You figure out what you want and what works, whether it's color or shape or finish, do what you want."
Morgan Haile and Taylor Daniel, Brand Namesakes, Morgan Taylor Lacquer
3. Pick Products that Really Work
Hair can be your best accessory as well as a flattering form of expression. Invest in the highest quality tools to help you create your best tresses. Tousled, beachy waves and curls ruled the runway. Embrace yours by finding the correct formulas to suit your needs.
"What we've seen a lot this on the runway this season is more of a tousled, lived-in deconstructed style. So recreating it at home is actually quite simple using one of three Ouidad products. We have Botanical Boost, which is a great refreshing spray. It's going to balance the Ph of naturally curly hair, it's going to restore the curl back into a much for organized state. With that apply the Playcurl Volumizing Spray or Wave Create. It's going to reproduce that beachy, bohemian style."
Chadwick Pendley, Master Artistic Educator, Ouidad
Barely there faces, colored liners and loads of luscious waves and curls. When it comes to taming the trends to suit your style the same rules apply for fashion and beauty: Go with what works, embrace your style. Have fun.
"Fashion is meant to be fun. If you don't have fun then what's the point?" Kelly Osbourne
