The Style Awards were held in New York City on Sept. 4th kicking off a week of what promises to be fabulous fashions.
"It's a night to celebrate people that have an impact in fashion," said Henrik Lundqvist a.k.a. Most Stylish Athlete 2012.
Event host, Nicole Ritchie certainly has made her mark with a clothing and jewelry line not to mention as a judge of up and coming talent on the hit show: Style Star.
"Style is really the root of fashion. It's more enduring than anything fashion that we do. It's something that transcends every generation," said John Varvatos, Menswear Designer of the Year.
Major stylists like Rachel Zoe - who accessorized with a baby bump - were there, plus pros like Catherine Malandrino and Zac Posen.
"We are a creative medium that is business as well. So when art and commerce come together it's really important to celebrate the leaders and the people that are really going for it," said Posen, Designer of the Year.
The performances were as exciting as the outfits, Ariana Grande sang her lungs out during the star-studded ceremony,"I'm so thrilled and I feel blessed and I pinch myself to make sure it's me. It's a great honor to be here," said Hairstylist of the Year, Frederic Fekkai.
Speaking of hair .. Christie Brinkley and her gorgeous locks hit the venue.
"I mean being able to bring recognition to so many people in all different sort of world in the fashion business and entertainment," said Janie Bryant, Costume Designer of the Year, TV.
Style Award's show-stoppers? Model of the Year, Kate Upton beautiful in black and a pair of gold high top sneakers that walked the red carpet.
"It singles out each year those who are the best at what they do. Stylists are such an integral part of people's lives. There are two things we do every day. We eat and we wear clothes," said Lawrence Zarian Style Expert & Personality.
