The Golden State puts designer Trina Turk in a creative state.
"The whole idea is to represent driving through Los Angeles and driving down Sunset Blvd and all the things you see," says the designer of her fall collection for 2014.
And what colorful scenery ! Turk rolls out an eclectic mix of 60s-inspired patterns, white wool coats, fur, leather and she goes bonkers for berets.
"So this is our first fall with shoes .. also handbags," adds Turk.
The kicks range from strappy, raspberry suede sandals to silver metallic tipped booties. Bags are big, they come in dark grey, tan also a woven black and white.
"There's a lot of firsts for us in this collection," says Turk.
For Rebecca Minkoff the jumping off point is also a new one -- menswear.
"I took a lot of masculine silhouettes and did them in soft feminine colors," says the designer.
Oversized outerwear is everywhere on her runway ... camel coats, red wool coats, plaid coats and coats with leather sleeves ... but her signature female intuition is still strong. One gold lame number couldn't of come from her male study.
"Rebecca always does a beautiful show. I always love her dresses," says actress AnnaSophia Robb.
If Rebecca Minkoff appeals to strong, pretty girls ... Ronson markets to the mysterious ones.
"My girl is creative, smart a little bit spooky," says the designer.
It takes a certain type to wear her signature red lip imprint pieces, bare shoulders and sheer paneled shirts. Actress Julie Henderson feels right in her wheelhouse.
"I love her. Its things you can wear everyday day, day to night. It's always flirty and feminine" says the actress.
You can always count on Lacoste to address those clothes you wear when you're running around doing errands, headed to the gym or planning to play badminton.
"I think Lacoste is cool. I like clothes that are focused very often on activewear. I live an active life. The clothes are technologically fascinating. Part of your life has to have a sense of activity. You have to do something and so those clothes actually matter," says Fashion Director of In-Style Magazine Hal Rubenstein.
