Supermodel Legends Walk The Norisol Ferrari Spring 2013 Fashion Show
Norisol Ferrari was inspired by iconic beauties Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and Rita Moreno for her Spring 2013 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. And to drive home her message, she recruited legendary supermodels Carol Alt, Karen Bjornson, and Carmen Dell'Orefice, who at 81 is known as the oldest working supermodel, to walk her catwalk. "What Norisol is doing is really great because not every woman is 20 years old. She wants to depict women as being beautiful and sexy at every age and her speech to the girls before the show began is, 'I picked you all because you're fabulous and you have presence. Just go out there and be a woman,'" Alt told us.
The clothing was elegant, glamorous and built to complement a woman's curves. The beauty look of the fashion show was equally as feminine. "Norisol asked us to do something very sophisticated, very womanly, so lots of liner, a red lip, a great structured brow, a little bit of cheek," says makeup artist Janell Geason. For hair, hairstylist Franco Dellagrazia kept it simple. "On Carol (Alt) we're using beautiful hair because what can you do to make Carol even better than what she does? The rest of the girls are really quite sleek because we are really trying to show off Norisol's lines in her clothing because her clothing is so beautiful," said Dellagrazia.
