If there's a Must Have in Thakoon's collection for fall it's the patchwork parka that has a piece of everything from floral to down. It's a great reflection of his goals for the whole line.

"I was really feeling altering textures .. like fleece .. like cozy things .. a lot of knit textures. Like really feeling something a bit more rustic," says the designer.

Some designers went to California for inspiration, others Paris ... for Thakoon the lightbulb went off after a piece of sculpture.

"The colors were inspired by a sculpture I had seen of pinks and oranges and greens it was really quite stunning," he remembers.

The manufactured brights are tempered by an all natural beauty look on the models.

"The hair is natural hair and the face is the same," Thakoon explains.

So many shows this season nail the manicure.

"The nails was a bit more of a mushroomy color just to tone it down a bit because the colors were so bright," says Thakoon.

Manicurists like Gina Edwards have become as important backstage as hair stylists and makeup artists.

"What Thakoon really wanted was something to off set the collection. He didn't want to pull or extract any color that was in the clothes so we thought organic, neutrals and we went with a nice latte please cappuccino color," she says.

You don't put out this kind of drama and not attract some celebs.

"I'm so excited to be here. The architecture of his designs really work for my body," says actress Taylor Schilling.
