Victoria Bartlett's VPL Fall 2013, Not for the Style Shy
Victoria Bartlett's VPL collection is an eccentric combo of soft clothes and structure. The models' sideways ponytails compliment the line's off center seams.
"We are leaving a little of the top out to bounce around on the runway. The lines are really kind of beautifully done. A nice side part," says Bob Recine, hair stylist.
The fall beauty trends at Bartlett's show are as educational as the clothing, the lines take us back to geometry class. But did someone get the measurements wrong on the fuzzy coats that cover half the body and leave the models half naked? VPL's edgy exposure isn't for everyone but the make-up is user friendly.
"So the look at VPL is all about this contoured neutral face. It's really a look that would work on any woman. It's very polished. It's very wearable, livable and kind of easy to wear in the real world," says Romy Soleimani, makeup artist.
The nude-hued loose leather looks that came down the runway seem wearable with an emphasis on waistline.
Red and purple shocked things out of the neutral zone -- a place Victoria Bartlett doesn't like to stay for too long.
"Vicki always likes things that has a kind of geometry flavor to it and believe it or not in that very simplistic look there's a lot of interesting little lines, geometric lines, that give the design and the collection it's complimentary quality," says Bob Recine, hair stylist.
